PENZANCE DRY DOCK CHANGES HANDS
Following the retirement of Mike Thomas who has successfully run Penzance Dry Dock Ltd. for 10 years, and has been responsible for sustaining and developing the yard during his time at the helm, the business has recently been sold.
The new owners are Tom Williams and Clive Towl, two long term marine repair and conversion specialists, who are committed to carrying the business forward and expanding the Customer base by offering good value high quality vessel repair and conversion work at one of the UK's longest established dry docks.
Examples of work currently underway at the yard include the annual refit of the Scillonian, the Isles of Scilly passenger ferry, and an extensive refit on a 36m superyacht the Lady Vista II, also the major conversion of a Swedish Government ice breaking supply vessel into a luxury adventure Motor Yacht called the Vega.
The yard, which has the benefit of a long lease from entrepreneur Peter De Savary, is ideally positioned to undertake a wide range of work for regular and occasional visitors to the Western approaches, South coast and further afield. With its skilled, experienced and dedicated workforce, the yard offers a wide range of services to those Customers seeking either simple repairs or complex good quality conversions, without the need to support a high cost business infrastructure.
The yard is always ready to welcome new and returning Customers who can expect a warm Penzance welcome and a total commitment to work closely and efficiently with them to complete their specific requirements on time and to budget.”
